The last Room Debate threw up some really interesting differences of opinion. Can’t wait to hear what you all think in today’s constructive critique!

It’s easy to take part. Just have a good look at the room photo below and leave a comment with your answers to these two questions:

One thing I like most about this room is…

One thing I like least about this room is…

Although I love the idea of the built-in cupboards, they’re actually the thing I like LEAST about this room because the overlap with the chimney breast really bothers me. I just do not get why you would do it like that. I also don’t like everything being on exactly the same level with the mantel piece. Makes it feel cluttered when it doesn’t need to be.

The thing I like MOST is her collection of vintage bits.

I agree with you about the cupboards – I like them generally but not quite sure I like the way they overlap the chimney breast. I think the thing I like least is the rug!

One thing I like most about this room is… The moldings and the books in the fireplace.

One thing I like least about this room is… The boring bland clearly designedly white washed look to this room. White / off white / neutral color scheme is so last week. Been there done that. Show me some slightly interesting in a color scheme. I also really disrespect when people try and use books strictly as decorative objects in a home. The fact that they will only let a white book or magazine on their bookshelves lets you know that they dont have interest in the subject of books. If it is representing a library of books, let there be their own interests in that library. Everyone has their own likes so it tells a little bit about the person who owns the books. Kinda like an ipod playlist!

That´s so funny. I loved the house tour and especially this picture. And I completely agree with you, I love the cupboards and don´t like the glass table. :)

Overall this room is right up my street, but if I pick out just my favourite and least favourite things they’d have to be…

The thing I like MOST are those half-height glass fronted alcove cupboards (and all the vintage loveliness inside). Though the way they’ve been fitted overlapping the chimney breast looks a bit bizarre. In principal though, I like the concept very much indeed.

The thing I like LEAST is that glass coffee table… why something so modern in such a lovely vintage room? And is that an ashtray on top? Noooo!
