I’ve been saving this one for a sunny summer’s day. I’ve realised now I could be waiting a long time, so let’s just go for it shall we?
Welcome all! As always, it’s easy to take part in the debate. Just have a good look at the photo below and leave a comment with your answers to these two questions:

Do you warm to the coastal charm of this room or does it leave you feeling colder than a Cornish surfer without a wetsuit? The comments section below is the place to share your thoughts… see you there ladies!
Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for joining in.

I like the striped couches, although I wouldn’t personally do stripes for a entire sectional and I don’t like the armoire that much its a little too cottagey for my taste.
I love the raw painted wood beams and stairs. The bold fabric could easily be softened by a soft rug, which in turn would warm up the room just enough. Thank you for sharing this!
Not a fan of the stripey couches. Love the floor. Could probably use a rug but not sure of the practicalities as you mention. I must say the idea of a beach house at the moment is seeming like a might fine idea. Can someone please shut off the rain!
I love the eclectic look of the space! The white painted rustic look of the walls, and ceiling against the tiled flooring. I love that armchair also!
I really don’t like that electric blue in the space, I think it contrasts to harshly against the rustic finishings of the rest of the space and it is too cubic for the rest of the room… I love colour but in this space a rust or even a more navy blue would have been better…

Good morning :) Exactly what you said, actually. I don´t like the floor, I like the texiles. Boring! Happy weekend!
Morning all!
The thing I like MOST about this room is the textiles. I love the cream knitted pouffe, rough four-sack upholstery and soft sofa cushions. The use of relaxed, casual fabrics is always my favourite element of any coastal room (the same goes for country-style rooms too). If I’m being picky, I think the sofa upholstery is a bit too crisp and smart to work well here – I would’ve favoured something in crumpled linen or loose-covered with basic white cotton.
The think I like LEAST is the hard floor. Traditional and practical I know (especially if this house is actually by the sea and there are sandy feet to contend with) but it definitely needs softening up for me. Perhaps a big natural fibre rug to build on the textiles thing would be nice.
Over to you…
I was going to write exactly that. I really like the pouffe in the background and the blue striped fabric is a bit too strong for the rest of the room.
