Join The Room Debate!

1 Feb

Morning all! I’m sooo busy at the moment life has become rather blink and you’ll miss it… but at least it means our lovely Friday discussions come around quickly!

So today’s spring-like bedroom ticks a lot of boxes if trends are all that matter: pastels, ombre, silk lampshades. But the real question is, does it float your boat? Have a good look and leave a comment with your answers to these two questions:

One thing I like most about this room is…

One thing I like least about this room is…

feminine pastel bedroom with four poster bed{House to Home}

I’m really looking forward to hearing what you think!

Have a lovely weekend.

I love the bed… The colors are beautiful and the frame is lovely. Hope you’re having a nice one!

I’m afraid I’m another who is struggling to find anything I like about this one. It looks like a total mishmash of styles, colours and decades to me! I love pastels, but this just looks washed out and I loathe the bed, side table, lamps, headboard and bedcovers – there’s really very little left to like! :-S

I really don’t like that bed – I just don’t get bed posts with my purpose, those poles just look wrong, the pastel covers just don’t inspire me, it needs a little pattern or texture. The rug as a headboard serves a visual purpose but it is not practical (done it myself when I didn’t have a headboard & it just doesn’t work as it always falls down if you lean back on it & the whole purpose of a bed is to relax …)

I like …. the pale calming walls, the lack of clutter, the light console / bedside tables as it means no clutter but taller matching lamps are needed and NO plastic water bottle.

Sorry but this room is just not inspiring ….

I really like the lights, the green on the ottoman at the back and the wall colour. The posts at the end of the bed make no sense to me and are detracting from the lights big time. I’m not keen on anything else in the room.

I don’t like the lightshades they seem really out of place, or the half height bed posts. I quite like the headboard and the mix of colours

I love everything bit the ceiling lights. Those are too stark and passive for this room. I love the bed frame and the Moroccan wedding blanket as a head board. I like how open and inviting it feels rather than cluttered and stuffy. Less is more for this room.

Is it really bad that I actually rather like this?! Of course, I love the silk pendants ;) I also like how the room combines warm with cool colors, something I always fail at. Not to keen on the beside table though, and ditto on the mismatched bedside tables. Happy weekend!

I like the pastel color palette on the bed, but so much more could have been done with it. My dislike list is pretty long and probably covers most of the rest of the room! I like simple, no fuss decorating, but this room is very sparse! It looks like someone is starting out as a homeowner with a big room and not much stuff. Been there done that!

Not many redeeming features here as far as I’m concerned. I’m not sure the pendants look right with the ethnic feel in the rest of the room, the plethora of pastel shades really isn’t my thing and I don’t think I ‘get’ beds that are a half-way house between regular beds and four posters.

Struggling to find something I like to be honest.

I agree about the halfway bedstead… they just always feel awkward to me.

The use of 2 matching pendants is a big plus for this room, the scale really lends itself to large or grouped objects, love the bedside / console tables!
I would prefer to have the bedside lamps to match to following the pendants, i think it may be one of those things you keep looking at but can’t explain why you feel it does work.
Lovely light room.. great to see images like this after the winter cold !

    Ok, here goes…
I like: the cornicing, the ceiling roses, the oversized pendant shades. And I like the idea of hanging a rug as a headboard, although I’m not that keen on this particular one.
I dislike: pretty much everything else! I’m not a fan of pastels and never have been so the latest trend really isn’t floating my boat. I don’t like the side tables with the bed, and the mismatched bedside lamps upset me.

I like your choice of wording regarding the lamps -only a true hommie is emotionally upset by someone else’s interior!
Looking closer at the lamps you made me notice the plastic water bottle beside the bed. Why leave that there???

I like the bedside table – really nice contrast with the rest of the pastels. My favourite thing would be the bedspread/blankets (love the pink with the cream and orange). Oh and the square style headboard with the fabric – such a clever & interesting idea. But my least favourite would be the other end of the bed. I’m not a huge fan of tall bed posts.
